Wie bereits mein deutscher Kollege Uwe Baumann gepostet hat, wurde Microsoft im neuesten Magic Quadrant Report für Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) von Gartnerim Leader Quadranten eingestuft.
Die Analysten Thomas Murphy und James Duggan identifizierten Microsoft dabei als “einen der wenigen Hersteller, die alle Aspekte des Software-Lebenszyklus abdecken” (“one of the only vendors to cover all aspects of the Software Development LifeCycle”*)
Dabei bezog sich die Studie auf Visual Studio 2010. Die neue Version Visual Studio 2012 bietet einiges mehr Punkto Team-Zusammenarbeit, Qualitätssicherung und der Reduktion von Blindleistungen.
Visual Studio 2012 ist zur Zeit als Release Candidate mit einer “go-live” Lizenz verfügbar. “Go-Live” bedeutet, dass Visual Studio 2012 bereits produktiv eingesetzt werden kann. Wer den Release Candidate (kann übrigens problemlos side-by-side mit Visual Studio 2010 installiert werden) nicht installieren möchte, kann sich auch das fix-fertige ALM Hyper-V Image von Brian Kellerherunterladen.
